Guess who is getting hurt with the tariffs? Yup,you and me. Hooper
“New evidence on the effects of the 2018 tariff rounds from two detailed academic studies points to larger effects on US consumer prices than we had previously estimated, admitted Goldman Sachs Chief Economist Jan Hatzius, in a note to clients Saturday. “First, the costs of US tariffs have fallen entirely on US businesses and households, with no clear reduction in the prices charged by Chinese exporters. Second, the effects of the tariffs have spilled over noticeably to the prices charged by US producers competing with tariff-affected goods.”

Haven't felt or seen any effect yet, but the list is so comprehensive that as items affected by the tariffs work their way to stores, all consumers are going to experience higher prices. That is never a good thing for those on fixed or mostly fixed incomes. The next shoe could drop shortly after May 18, when a significant tariff (25%) on imported cars and auto parts might be assessed based upon a Commerce Department report that supposedly answered a Presidential question whether imports of autos threatened national security. It's impossible to make this stuff up. As George Will pointed out in a recent op-ed, no one would ask such a question unless they expected the answer to be yes.
Another more insidious effect will be upon those areas of our economy which are being subjected to retaliatory tariffs from China. If those exports diminish, jobs could be lost. Those in the agricultural industries could be most impacted, but that also has a spillover effect to areas such as farm equipment and others who supply farmers whose goods get tariffed.

Does it really surprise anyone that NO POLITICS was gonna screw this tariff business up? He's a moron. The world is laughing at us. Yet NO POLITICS supporters hang in there. That's the most amazing part of this whole story. Hopefully people will see that we have elected a man with ZERO military background or service, has no idea what he's doing and is a security risk to all Americans. In my view, we can't get NO POLITICS out of the oval office fast enough. Ok Hoop...let's get off NO POLITICS and talk about Robert Craft...lol...man, that guy must be well connected with the judges up there!

I think you and I both know the stories of Goldman Sachs spider. Along with AIG. As for the Rockets, no argument that they just got whupped. But I've turned my attention to the Astros. Soon enough, the Texans will be playing!
