Remember this? Hooper
One of Baffert's leading owners, Gary West, threatened to sue the Breeders' Cup unless the Lasix ban was reversed. West hired Sutherland Asbill and Brennan, an Atlanta law firm, which sent a six-page letter to Fravel, copying every Breeders' Cup board member. Saying the board members have a “fiduciary duty to advance the interests of the U.S. racing industry,” the letter said the decision to ban Lasix “puts the life of the horse and jockey at risk” and would have a “devastating impact on every aspect of the American Thoroughbred racing industry.” The attorney's letter concluded that West and his wife Mary have “authorized us to litigate fully and completely” if the Breeders' Cup did not reverse the 2011 policy.

Lol...since " 2011" ?? Seems he waited much to long...why not sooner , must be a mis print...lol...on the basis of 2011 he has nothing to stand on...maybe it should be 2021 , which would make sense but he has lots of time to move his horses Etc so move them...other tracks would be happy to bring in new graded races just for his class of horses and other owners would follow...lol..

Horses should be trained properly and if they bleed constantly it means they should not be running in those upper races...so the public is not really seeing champions on the track but like the doctor said, take this and that at the time prescribed and all should be o k....lol...these then are not as sound as the public thinks supper horses are supposed to be...reminds me of,....aaahhhh well....

New York didn't legalize Lasix until September 1, 1995, the last state to do so - and I often cleaned up betting against shippers who had to race without Lasix in the '80s and early '90s.
If the horse had to come off Bute as well, it was known as a "Double Trouble" situation (named after the characteristic feature of the pinball game Jungle Lord).
