Thanks for the video clip that reminds again what a dirt bag we have as President. People will have a choice and it looks like a good one. Does he tweet? If so, get your popcorn ready!

I had a bit of interest in the Libertarian ticket as I was looking about for alternative last time. ( Also looked at the Green Party). I guess people missed that Weld was the VP candidate on the ticket with Gary Johnson. I had previous positive impressions of him from his time as Governor of Massachusetts. I watched him interviewed several times during the 2016 campaign and found him thoroughly unimpressive and uninformed on issues. In addition, he was anything but a Libertarian. I'm guessing this is just a stunt to keep himself in the public eye , maybe sell a few books and lead to some paid speeches when it's over. Hard pass.
edit
But then I'm not a Republican, let alone a "real one" whatever that is.

politics is only meant to divide as a people. if we really wanted unity then all political parties should be banned, their assets taken away and given to the one and only political party. it would be called the american peoples party (app). its number one mandate being that anyone who chooses to run for any office be funded equally. then you wouldnt have any cheating scandals like hilliary tried to do to bernie in 2016. there would be no private donations allowed you want to donate you donate to the party so they can give it to each and everyone. you want to vote you register with the party, no independents. no lobbyists wooing votes for their cause, if their cause has merit then it gets the due attention it deserves. until we stop the outside influencers from running this country how they want it run, instead of how the people want it to be run. then we will all be doomed to be herded like sheep

shoes,I agree. My initial post was talking about the 45-55 year old Bill Weld. He has lost his fastball. If we have a minimum age of 35 to be President maybe we need a maximum age also. I'd suggest 70. Reagan was elected for a second term when he was almost 74 and fought cognitive issues the whole term. Don't get me started on Supreme Court Justices in their 80's. inhis60'sHooper

I actually think that over the next 20 years it will go the other way- i.e. we will have a 3rd and maybe even a 4th viable party and we may have the equivalent of coalition governments. This would take time to change to have truly viable 3rd parties down to the state level as opposed to a one off for a given presidential cycle. Whether that is a good or abad thing, I don't know. I can envision problems but then what we have now doesn't work that well either.

The job is so demanding and requires so much energy to do it right, I think a max age rule makes sense.

coalition governments dont work just look across the pond as true examples of that. politicians try to flex their power and then all of a sudden you are spending more money on new elections.

I somewhat favor the Starbucks guy, and don't want another career politician. Governor possibly. I don't see how anyone from the House or Senate can look at us with a straight face and say that they are accomplished and qualified.
When you get beyond the daily fake news drama/outrage, things are moving fairly well. Also brilliant idea to move the migrants in to the sanctuary cities. Laughing over the hypocrisy.

For the purpose of conversation...
can you please define and give an example of "fake news?" To my mind, there is no such thing as fake news. News is News. Lies are Lies. Facts are Facts. Alternative facts are 'spin,' opinion, lies. The moment a person claims that News is Fake... ("daily" - really?) the strength of their position or argument is immediately diminished/discredited. The same is true about the paranoiacs who claim the existence of a "Deep State."
Claiming something "fake news" is an attempt to replace substance with propaganda. This is not News - these are simply lies spouted by a corrupt, criminal President.
This is not News - simply "Ridiculous Bullshit" spewed by our incompetent individual #1. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FAKE NEWS. If I'm wrong... please give me an example.

the governments of the free word are run by the roman empire standards , the others by the will of folks who are dictators, like in commie nations...but all these governments have one thing in common , the backing of the wealthy and strong arm folk to get elected, and they generally pull the strings of the elected...after all, they all have their clubs and bars etc...but in general, all are the same, as human nature never changes...and people will follow those who are causing food, drink, clothing, a roof over head and the bills being paid via incomes etc to be elected, and when they run out of ideas to create better ways, others are elected to restructure what already exists...nothing changes...and for a while some prosper, then others do, kind of like most companies / organizations that exist for a while , then die out or others take over those that are of a more enduring nature...like oil companies and those that control same...but now the attack is on oil and plastic and flesh eaters to change more to grains etc. world wide...

Easy— Russian collusion investigation reporting = fake news(lies by your definition)
Deep state has always existed Is currently being investigated by Senate for the real attempt to influence both the last presidential election and the result
NO POLITICS is not good, however our economy, security and racial issues are functioning well. Congress/Senate is the boondoggle for everything.
Badactor says that I have no credibility? lol

Historically all world powers interfered with nations around them as much as possible in every which way so to be concerned that Russia or China etc. are not finding ways to control as much of other nations actions is incomprehensible....we have from our base in North America always tried to get folks elected etc in other nations to control as much as possible....lol..

"security and racial issues are functioning well"....oh my goodness.
No part of the reporting has been disproven. All you have is lapdog Barr's "summary" to support your "point", and even that doesn't do it. Ask yourself, what are they hiding?
And you really think it was the 'Deep State' that tried to influence the election?
Badactor is right on.
Ignorance is bliss, I guess......

...a fake news item might be the media that favored the Clinton run ( which was about ninety five percent ) stating that she was way ahead when it was not even being close to true, in nigh every state , during the entire office run for president, and even Obama stated a few mis statements but at the end he and company tried very hard to get folks out to vote for Clinton and company...the reports were non factual that the media gave to the public ....and these days feeds the public a lot of views that undermine what really is being stated ....I listen to the person who is the principal orator and not those who then state what they think was stated or said...and then see how what the principal orator said effects my world directly or indirectly ...and so far I do not think mr NO POLITICS has been off the mark...he is right in doing what other presidents said they would do and did not...even areas that were on a war footing around Russia have not been in the news , partly, perhaps because mr NO POLITICS meet and also speaks to the other world leaders instead of agitations that former presidents and assistants caused....etc

Collusion (in plain sight.)
Obstruction (in plain sight.)
More NEWS following the Mueller Report release on Thursday.
Stay tuned... the truth will out. This Presidency is over. Over and Out.
BTW: Yes, I am angry... angry and frustrated that a man of your intellect
has chosen to abdicate any responsibility to the obvious truth regarding this President. When I read your celebratory posts about how "good" it is that NO POLITICS is destroying
US credibility at home and abroad... how pleased you say you are about his dismantling
and undermining of the essential institutions of this country, it causes me grave concern. You are better than that. You are smarter than that. And as such, you have a responsibility to stand up and speak out against this President and the damage he continues to cause. (JMO.)

Not everyone sees things the same..... in my opinion one of the problems with the world nowadays is that people have such strong opinions they cannot agree to disagree and still remain considerate of that fact......

"racial issues are functioning well"
WTF....really. What news are you watching?
His comments on Africa (shit hole) Mexico (all rapists, drug dealers and gang members) White Nationalists (they're good people)......he likes "Swedish people" ....racism is functioning at the top, and we see it everyday in the news in one form or another. A number of us in our 60's and 70's have seen it worse, but make no mistake, it is "not functioning well"
