Now this is getting serious.
Worldwide, over the next few decades, beer could become more scarce and thus more expensive because of human-caused global warming, a study reported Monday.
The production of barley, the main ingredient in beer, is likely to drop substantially because severe droughts and heat extremes will become more frequent as the climate changes, the study says. "Average yield losses (of barley) range from 3 percent to 17 percent, depending on the severity of the conditions," the study says.
In the USA, beer shortages could reduce the amount Americans consume each year by as much as 900 million gallons. That's (gulp) about 9 billion bottles of beer.
"Future climate and pricing conditions could put beer out of reach for hundreds of millions of people around the world," said study co-author Nathan Mueller of the University of California-Irvine.

I started drinking wheat beer (Blue Moon) so I'm not sure barley production is a problem here.
Global warming .... was watching a show on the likes of Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan. It was mainly about how they expanded their territory. I forget which chinese emperor just wiped out everyone in taking over the largest area. It was said that that loss of life was enough to drop global temperature by 10 degrees for years. Just saying. Was an interesting show.

Always a sad day in the fall when the Oberon runs out. I'm not so patiently waiting my way though the winter on Hoegarden and Blue Moon until it hits the taps/shelves again late March.
I'll have to see if I can find the Allgash and Harpoon here.

Burping, farting, using the electricity to heat up the items used and the items themselves, in all its ways, is causing much of the problem...most of it....then there's the sun heating up on those hot days as well is a major problem...lol...etc....so ,if as many on a percentage basis were to do a genghis etc in our times ,rather that then , it should solve the problem for a while....lol...plus they would not be using the former mentioned , so , perhaps it would create an ice age again....lol...
