Race 2- CLM16000N2L 1MI T
"A" horses: #4- Malkia (4-1) broke her maiden last out for Thomas/Lynch. Second and third place finishers from that heat both returned to win next starts, so a better than average group that day. Early speed and inside post, repeat well within reach.
"B" horses: #9- Mineshaft Madness (7-2) won at first asking, then went on the shelf in June. Series of steady works for this, Allen would not be my first (or second) choice for a turf jockey, but he's been winning for Bennett; can't ignore. #10- Caruca (6-1) is another with early foot. Gallardo rides back after the off-the-turf fade last time. Filly's two best races were on the grass here last winter. Sharp workout on the 9th puts her on her toes.

Race 3- Wayward Lass S. $50,000 1MI 1/16
"A" horses: #6- Tapa Tapa Tapa (8-5) just missed against better horses in this race last year, is 3/ 2-1-0 at TAM. Bullet work on the 12th for Hamm, who gives Gallardo a leg up. Strictly the one to catch.
"B" horses: #2- Pure Lemon (9-2) could be this good, but always skeptical of the "big fish, small pond" types. Brad Cox sends #1- Figarella's Queen (3-1) over from FG off of a solid string of works, should sit back from the expected pace and make a late run. Not impossible here.
Race 4- CLM16000 1MI 1/8 T
"A" horses: #8- Bonita Springs (5-2) faced much better last time, drops to a winning level for Rigattieri/Morales. #4- Ultimate Avary (10-1) looks to be the controlling speed, might get a nice price stealing one on the front end.
"B" horses: #5- Sugar Cane Girl (8-1) looks to be the best closer in the field. Faced better in the Turf Test last out, Nations drops her down and stretches out. Price will be square.

Race 6: MSW22500 1MI T
"A" horses: #5- Peppermint Crunch (15-1) ran evenly against a very hot pace in dirt sprint debut, runs back quickly with a sharp interim work and stretches out on the grass. Harty is having a fine meet, could light it up here. #8- Eons (9-2) debuts for Delacour/Centeno with strong pedigree on display. Sharp workout on 27 December for this $300K son of Giant's Causeway.
"B" horses: #2- Crypto Gold (8-1) Clement is just ordinary with FTS and FTT. Camacho rides all of his winners, but taking a wait-for-next-time approach with this one. #6- Diplome (6-1) ran okay against KEE maidens, working like a clock here since November; don't dismiss. #10- Digital Age (7-2) draws widest of all for Chad Brown/Gallardo. Klaravich-runner could be this good but the price could be half the morning line. Look elsewhere for value.

Race 7: Pasco S. $125,000 7F
"A" horses: #2- Overdeliver (4-1) beat GP maidens at first asking, stretches out for Pletcher/Lynch. Should be part of a pretty hot pace. #4- Win Win Win (5-2) broke poorly but nearly closed for the win in stakes debut in last. Could sit a nice stalking trip in this spot. #7- Cave Run (7-2) is a beautifully-bred Godolphin-runner for Harty. Dominated a MSW group here in very fast time last month, recent works should have him sitting on go. I really like this horse, think he could turn out to be something special.
"B" horses: #5- War Bridle (30-1) gets no respect from the ML oddsmaker, but Joan Scott is having a great meet and the horse has had three good breezes since breakout win here last month. Ignore at your own peril. #6- Gladiator King (6-1) won the 6F Inaugural S. here last month, then tired in a mile stakes race at GP in last. Turnback in distance should help. Mejia runs them old school, eh? Probably a pace casualty.

Race 8- OCLM32000N2X 1MI T
"A" horses: #4- Summer Sweet (3-1) returns at this same level after a nice wide late run to victory last time. Stidham is having a terrific meet so far, bullet workout says repeat is very possible. #5- Sweet Story (3-1) seeks class relief after three races against much tougher. Trainer Rountree knows her way around a turf horse. Form reversal expected from this one. #9- Magic Hatter (10-1) is second off the layoff following a dirt sprint prep last out. 8 for 11 in-the-money on turf, could surprise with a big late run.
"B" horses: #1- Ponti Scheme (5-2) lighly-raced 5YO mare hasn't improved much since breaking her maiden here in 2017. Hard to endorse for the win, but could sit a cozy inside trip under Camacho. #3- Crown and Sugar (6-1) loves to win with Gallardo on her back, will be forwardly placed. Pass her to win.

Race 9- Gasparilla S. $125,000 7F
"A" horses: #2- In a tremendous betting race I've landed on #2- Into the South (5-1) for trainer Ignacio Correas and jockey Jesus Castanon. She ran two good races at SAR including a MSW win going 6F, then wasn't embarrassed in a BEL turf sprint stakes. Had a good third in a rich 7F CD stakes against a runaway winner, and her workouts at TAM are absolutely sparkling. Price should be square.
