How accidentally fortunate to have been born into a period of time when music was creative, cars were fast, gas was cheap, and long haired long legged girls were pretty. Somehow I managed to live well beyond even my own wildest dreams and will leave this life with just a few regrets but a million great memories and secure in the knowledge that the regrets were all accidentally self inflicted!
I like this...not original but lyrics from a song...a one hit wonder actually....I don't always listen to Billy Thorpe, but when I do, I throw a rock through the window so my neighbors can enjoy this song...
Children of the Sun is the song. Check it out.

Spanky...I always like to tell the story of after finishing school, I packed my car(1965 Pontiac Bonneville 389 V-8 four barrel carb ...which I purchased for $500 in 1969) to head out to Calif.(from NY) to make my way in the world. Upon leaving my father handed $60 for gas money. When I arrived in Calif...I still had $5 leftover. Another time, another era. Look back on those days with many memories I cherish, and will carry those for the entirety of my life. PS...the music was phenomenal ..and a second PS (long haired long legged girls are still pretty ) Carl

Lol...if one was earning two Dollars and twenty-five cents an hour , one paid the bills...and it was just about the last times in history one could send away for the entire parts and build / assemble that is , the cars for about half price, because after that the " jobbers " ran parts shops ....lol..back in the 50' s and even the sixties and before , folk got the parts shipped and assembled cars themselves...motorcycles as well...lol...that is going well back...it was not a well known factor...but out in the country , we country folk did this...
