Well, I'll be dogged. Claimed Misschief Mas (1st claim) for $25,000(claiming crown winner for Navarro...lost her on the claim).....quick turnaround for the new owners today at GP (8th)......pulls off the win in a Starter Stakes ($60,000).....about $40,000 in the bank on her in only a few weeks

Parx, 2019/01/29, Race 3, Sandy Mischief. $25,000.
With winter weather coming to the northeast/middle atlantic, I might be scrambling if my final 2 picks both get cancelled due to weather.

Propro,, I believe you are correct....lol...lol...rule one...all my selected were entered in a Jan. race....but perhaps they were a sch...that I cannot foresee so what I wonder about is , what happens if my other two selections do not run this month, lol...but were a sch. when they were selected or the track cancelled that days races....lol...what happens if a horse is a gate sch. On the final day of the month of Jan.....does the horse still count in ones stable ?? ...but all mine were entered...so that should count....according to all the other rules of the contest....lol...just an after thought....

bpiets, it's possible that the presiding steward (Bev) might consider your comment on 1/26 (Hollywood Harry at Sunland park in race 5 at 7/2 m/l on the 27 th) might count as your request to claim. Since Bev makes the rules, it's totally up to him.

Propro , you are indeed correct. I have accepted this claim from BPiets as he posted on January 26. Just to clarify if your selected horse is scratched you must make another selection before January 31. I would also caution against waiting until the last minute for races in the north east as we look as if we are getting some pretty cold weather this week.

Sandy Mischief finally got her chance to race after being postponed once in January. Big final furlong at Parx to win going away in a good 114.70 on an absolutely dead track. $16,800 added to my total and amazingly, no claims on her.
If Penn Nat is going to cancel tomorrow due to the weather, I hope they announce it early so I can find a new third pick. Shacklefords Lady is supposed to race at Penn tomorrow night. She has been my contest pick three times now and the first two resulted in cancellations. Winning the cancellation trifecta has to be really tough on the real owners of her and everyone else that's been reentered twice already. No checks for a month and the chance that you're actually going to have to waste a chance to run by throwing in a published workout. Tough game in the northeast in the winter.

Question, so if both my other selections do not run this month should I select two others over the next couple of days thanks....... .....I just went and checked on the other two horses I picked....divine favor ran at fairgrounds jan. 01....in race 1 and ended up fourth and received $1,200.00 for same and this should be added to my total.... .....exotica ran Jan. 4th in race 3 at fairgrounds and ended up sixth and got nil for the trouble as the top five finishers got a pay cheque...lol...... ....I will add that to my total....so all my horses are in the clear and hopefully will run again shortly...lol.. .......my total....$21,780.00.....lol....and counting....thanks for the ruling....

Hopefully my last attempt at filling my stable...but probably not, since it's Laurel on 1/31. :-)
2019/01/31 Laurel Race 8, #7 Readytotapit. $25,000.

I'm not feeling that this year. My stable is all lightly raced and I've always depended on a solid veteran that had a big year. This last one, Readytotapit was raced hard as a 2yo, but he's sprinting on dirt when his dam is Dance Tap, who was a 300k turf filly for Pletcher who went 4-1-0-1, all closing efforts going 2 turns on the turf. Readytotapit looks like he has a low, reaching stride and I think that translates well to the weeds. Hopefully the real owners give him a shot this spring.
Always a fun contest, Bev. Thanks for putting it on again.
